Get Ready! The Devil’s Den Treasure Hunt starts soon!

20160812_113734_resized

This is one of the items in Todd’s Treasure Box. It’s a real arrowhead like Todd had in The Devil’s Trap. This tiny arrowhead was actually found by the author while he was hunting in Arkansas.

Brody and Todd hid the treasure box in 1881 and it was never found. It’s hidden in Fort Smith and if you are the first to find it, you can keep Todd’s Treasures! You can use clues in this series of books to get you there. The Devil’s Den will be released September 2017! Get your treasure hunting brain ready.

Bobcat In November – Education In Nature

Picture your pet cat, except double in size, spotted coat, large paws, tufts of hair on the tips of the ears, and a short tail. The bobcat is the most common wild cat in the Untied States.

They eat just about anything they can catch, including baby deer(fawns), rodents, rabbits, and birds.

Bobcats live 6-10years in the wild and up to 25years in captivity.

Despite being threatened in the 1900’s, the cat population is very stable now with at least 1-million bobcats in the wild.

Last year (2012) I captured a young cat on film. They are beautiful animals. You can hear me making squeaking sounds in the video to make the bobcat stop. He went into the brush and I turned the camera off, thinking he was gone, but he hid and stalked the animal(me) that was making the squeaking sound. After a few minutes, he came out of the brush and crossed to the other side, but I wasn’t quick enough to get any more film.

Finally, It’s Finished. The Road To Writing A Book

I’m done!

The easy part was thinking up the story and putting it on paper.

The hard part was edit after edit. At some point, a writer gets fed up with looking at the same project. Then, you’ll want to push it on out to agents, publishers, or the world. But DON’T.

Hang in there. Put it away for a while. Go back to it and keep going back until you are sure it’s ready.

I lost count on The Devil’s Backbone. Five or six trips though, editing-rewriting.

The Happy Dance has started!

Speckled King Snake – Education In Nature

Beautiful snake. Did not even try to bite while my wife and i were handling it.
Things to look for when you come across a snake like this in the U.S.
Slim head-not triangular.
Round eyes.
Slim body.
Long slender tail.
And the speckled pattern.
I suggest not handling any snake, unless you are absolutely sure.
